This week we began talking about the fall/autumn season. we focused on “apples”. We smelled apples, drew apples, and cooked applesauce. It seems “applesauce” is not a common food for our students. However, they happily cut the apples so nicely. While it was cooking, some students sniffed and said, “The apple’s smell has changed!”. Then at the end of cooking, they noticed that the apple color had changed! They all tasted the applesauce and most of them liked it.
We also read the storybook “Ten Apples Up On Top!” by Dr. Suess. They enjoyed it a lot. Then we stuck apples on paper and after that they took toy apples and tried to balance them on their head (like in the story). So, the Dolphin Class students made a ‘special holder’ to keep ten apples balanced on their head. They tried so hard to keep the apples up on top!
