They continued to learn Japanese culture. they observed a “daruma”, which is a traditional Japanese doll-like figure and has become a symbol of good luck.
It’s usually round and red, and is displayed in many homes and businesses. It’s most likely the students had never seen a real daruma close up before, so the Penguin Class students tried to touch it.
The Seal class noticed that the daruma didn’t have eyes! The teachers explained that there is a special meaning when the owner draws the eyes on it. Then everyone made their own daruma!
Also the Penguin Class made a “hagoita”. They have been playing with hanetsuki since the beginning of this month.
